Success: Debt relief order helps a client with changing circumstances

Our client came to us with debts totalling over £50,000 but didn’t want to go bankrupt. They had a full-time job up until a few years ago when they had to leave work to become a full-time carer for family members. They were unable to afford to pay their debts so our specialist money adviser sent write-off request letters to creditors, as a debt relief order couldn’t be applied for with over £50,000 debts. Enough creditors agreed to write debts off which enabled them to apply for a debt relief order with our assistance. The debt relief order will write their debts off after a year.

We understand there are many reasons people get into debt. The advice we provide is non-judgmental and is focused on exploring ways to manage your finances. Request a call back from our specialist money advice team.
